Dr Henry Sealy

DVM

Veterinarian

Hobart born and raised, Henry studied and worked in Adelaide, before returning home to work at NHVH in 2019 and joined the HVVH team late 2022.  Henry is passionate about caring for his animal patients (and their humans!) and loves to build a relationship with both his clients and patients. He loves animals of all shapes and sizes but has a particular soft spot for dogs . Henry is interested in all aspects of small animal medicine and working with clients to formulate the best treatment for their furry family members

In his spare time Henry enjoys the life style Tasmania provides and loves being outdoors, climbing, biking, hiking, kayaking and 4WD driving. Henry and his partner currently have two pet rats called Penelope and Blossom.

Dr Seyfan Lederman

BVSc

Veterinarian

Seyfan graduated from the University of Queensland in 2013.  Since then she has worked in various kinds of veterinary practice, from general practice, shelter work and emergency. Seyfan fell in love with Tasmania and made her home in the Huon Valley, commencing work at HVVH at the start of 2020.

Seyfan enjoys hiking, playing guitar, gardening and baking.  You’ll often find her cuddled up to her cat Sanjay in front of the fire.  Seyfan loves working at HVVH and enjoys building relationships with locals and their pets.  She is passionate about providing the best care to all our furry friends.

Dr Amy Moorfield

Veterinarian

Amy hails from Tasmania, having grown up on a small farm on the north west coast. Amy graduated from CSU in Wagga Wagga, NSW in 2020, she then worked in Victoria before returning home to Tassie.

Amy joined North Hobart in 2022 and has been a regular vet at Huonville since Jan 2023. Amy is committed to providing a high level of care for all animals. Amy shares her home with her elderly border collie Louise and her hungry cat Noni.

In her spare time Amy enjoys soaking up the sun, spending time with friends and family, travel, hiking and yoga.

Dr Sarah Basset

DVM BVSc

Veterinarian

Sarah joined the Vetbiz team in January 2022 and has enjoyed working at North Hobart Veterinary Hospital, Tasmanian Veterinary Hospitals, and Huon Valley Veterinary Hospital.  Sarah now works between North Hobart and Huonville.

Sarah grew up in Tasmania and fell in love with nature and its wonderful wildlife. From a young age she adored animals and knew that she wanted to incorporate them into her career in some way. It wasn’t long until Sarah had her heart set on being a vet and worked hard in high school to get a spot in a veterinary degree.

Sarah studied at the University of Adelaide completing a bachelors in Veterinary Bioscience and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Sarah has a broad focus on all facets of veterinary science with a keen interest in medicine and diagnostic imaging.

In her spare time, Sarah loves hanging out with her dog Florence pictured. Sarah loves all things outdoors including mountain biking, bush walking and playing football.

Abbey Pincius

Nurse

Abbey has studied both her Cert II and Cert III in Animal Studies and is very keen to further her studies with Cert IV. Abbey has always had animals in her life, having grown up with many around her and has always had the passion to work with animals for as long as she can remember.

Abbey has Freya (7 year old Staffy x Ridgeback) and Milani (4 year old Ragdoll x) at home which are both rescue animals.

During Abbey’s free time she likes going for walks with her dog and spending time with her family. She can also be found singing and dancing around the house and crocheting.

Bree Pettit

Nurse

Bree has both her Certificate II and III in Animal Studies and has recently completed her Certificate IV in Vet Nursing.

Bree has had a deep love for animals her entire life and has been passionate about caring for them since she was a young girl.  An aim of Bree’s is to gain expansive knowledge working with wildlife and exotic animals in the future.

Bree has a senior golden retriever named Jasper who she adores and in her free time she loves to dance, read, listen to music and is a tea connoisseur.

Sarah Fowler

Nurse

Sarah has been a vet nurse in the Huon Valley since 2018.  She loves being able to help animals and make a difference in their lives. Sarah loves working in a wonderful team of like-minded people.  Seeing the happiness in both animal and owners face when they are reunited fit and healthy is so heart-warming.

Sarah’s fury family include a dog Oliver, a cat Imogen, a cockatiel Tippy and her horse Natez.  She also enjoys horse riding and spending time with friends and family.

Emma Hodge

Nurse

Currently on Maternity Leave.

Emma has both her certificate II in animal studies and her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing.

Emma has been volunteering in the veterinary industry since she was 14 years of age.  Emma always knew she wanted to pursue a career working with animals as she was constantly bringing home sick birds and chasing bugs. Emma has worked in both single species clinics and emergency settings and is also a registered wildlife carer.

Emma and her partner have two cheeky rescue greyhounds (Luna and Fay – Fay is pictured) and two cats (Dina and Nuggets) who they delight in spending time with. In her spare time Emma likes gardening and going to music gigs.

April Thompson

Trainee Nurse

April has completed her Certificate II and III in Animal Studies and is looking forward to learning more through the Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. She has worked in the animal industry for many years in a range of roles with varying species, including grooming, behaviour, and large animal husbandry. April has a deep love of all animals and is delighted to be working in her dream job. She is a registered wildlife carer and is passionate about Tasmanian wildlife, she also has a particularly soft spot for our canine friends.

April has a Cavoodle named Wesley (pictured) and a Staffy named Jinx. She has previously had pet rats, birds, hermit crabs, an array of fish and numerous orphaned pademelons. In her spare time April enjoys adventuring with Wesley, travelling and spending time with family and friends.

Emma Dawson

Client Services

Emma has her cert III in dog behaviour and training.

Emma is thrilled to be working at HVVH where she is able to build relationships with both people and animals, it’s her dream job! For as long as Emma can remember she has had a love and interest in all animals both large and small. Emma has previously worked in roles within the animal care industry and possesses a wealth of knowledge in both customer service and animal care.

Emma lives with her kelpie ‘Kip’ who keeps her on her toes and horses who she enjoys training and competing . When Emma is not working she enjoys spending time with her animals, being outdoors with them brings her immense joy.
